Over the Christmas period and New Year of 2020 (what a different world back then!) I spent (at least) two months pulling together data on research spending in ‘cyber security’ across France, Germany, Israel, Singapore, the USA and the UK. This was done with another then research associate in the Bristol Cyber Security Group, Brit Davidson (who did the visualisations and some of the data validation) as well as the research group manager Louise Evans who pulled everything together.
This was a joint project written from Bristol (Awais Rashid), Imperial College London (Chris Hankin), and Surrey (Steve Schneider).
It’s taken a while for this to be released. It was funded by the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) but they had no involvement in the analysis or what was written.
